Genoa’s “Cowboy Christmas”

Concert is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Historic Genoa Town Hall at 2289 Main Street, Featuring Mary Kaye.CLICK HERE for more details.

Tickets for the Cowboy Christmas are $20. Children’s tickets are $15 (12 years and under).

Dinner tickets: $15 for Adults, $10 for Children (12 years and under). Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner hosted by Friends of Genoa. (Proceeds will benefit Genoa’s free summer concert series: Concert On The Green.)

27th Annual Share Your Christmas Food Drive!

Join us for the 27th Annual Channel 2 News Share Your Christmas Drive-By Food Drive! We are collecting non-perishable foods and funds at CVI to benefit Douglas County residents. There will be music, emergency vehicles, service men and women, a blood drive, and SANTA! This is a fun, family friendly event with volunteer opportunities and tons of community generosity.

Saturday, December 7 — THREE breakfast seatings

Breakfast with Santa on Saturday from 8:30 a.m., 9:40 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. 
Santa will be visiting with children and their families throughout the morning. Be sure to bring your camera!
Breakfast will consist of fluffy pancakes with syrup, sausage, orange juice and coffee. Tickets are $5 per person, children 4 years and under are free! Breakfast with Santa will be held in the Genoa Town Hall located at 2287 Main Street. For details or to purchase tickets, contact the Genoa Town Office, (775) 782-8696 or stop by the office located at 2289 Main Street. Seating is limited!

5th Annual New Year’s Eve Candlelight Labyrinth Walk

The community is invited to Main Street Gardnerville’s 5th Annual New Year’s Eve Candlelight Labyrinth Walk on December 31, 2019. Luminaries will light the way as you enjoy this newest tradition in the Carson Valley. “Walk out the Old Year and Welcome the New Year” during this family friendly event on New Year’s Eve. Come any time between 6 and 9 pm.

Why walk a Labyrinth on New Year’s Eve? It’s a time to create hopeful tomorrows. Labyrinths are used throughout the world as a way to quiet the mind, recover a balance in life, to meditate, gain insight, reduce stress, to create and celebrate.

24th Annual Parade of Lights

The Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce’s 24th Annual Parade of Lights is Saturday, December 7th.  Join in for this fun and beautiful family friendly event! The Towns of Gardnerville and Minden, along with Main Street Gardnerville, will come together to support this event.  The announcing stand and parade judges will be located at the Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center,  and the Douglas County Historical Society has a fun-filled day planned for you as well. The parade runs from Heritage Park in Gardnerville, down Hwy. 395 to Minden Park.

This Year’s Theme is: “Favorite Holiday Movie”

Minden Park Gazebo Lighting

Friday, December 6th ~ Gazebo Lighting
Event kicks off @ 5 pm with music from the DHS Jazz Band & Fire Pits with S’mores. Kids who bring a canned food item or a donation for the Carson Valley Food Closet receive a goodie bag and a chance to help Santa light the Gazebo! Santa arrives at 6 pm to light the Gazebo! A free dance performance and much more!

Saturday December 7th ~ Parade of Lights
Craft Faire in the CVIC Hall from 10 am-8 pm. Music and holiday cheer starting in downtown Minden @ 5:00 pm. The 23rd Annual Parade of Lights ends in Minden Park.
